Cowgirls Dominate Final Day At Aggie Fall Invitational

LAS CRUCES, N.M.—Oklahoma State's women's tennis team closed out play at the Aggie Fall Invitational in dominating fashion, producing champions in both singles and doubles on Sunday.
After losing the first set 6-3, OSU junior Nataliya Shatkovskaya roared back to take the singles title against New Mexico State's Stephanie Eusebe after winning the final two sets, 6-3, 6-3.
JoAnne Karaitiana shared the title with Shatkovskaya when her opponent, Isabela Kulaif of New Mexico State, retired with an injury in the second set.
Shatkovskaya and Karaitiana defeated teammates Galina Semenova and Maryna Trachenko, 8-2, in the doubles final.
“We are very happy with all of their performances,” OSU head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. “We were very successful, and we really played well. I'm impressed that we won the tournament in both doubles and singles.”
The Cowgirls will return to Stillwater and begin team practice this week.
