Oklahoma State Cross Country Teams Complete First Event

TULSA,Okla. - The men's and women's Oklahoma State cross country teams both ran to third-place finishes at the Hurricane Festival Saturday, their first event of the 2008 season.
On the men's side, sophomore Ryan Lusk led the way for the Cowboys, finishing the four-mile course in 20:30, which was enough for fifth place. Senior Brian Gosnell had the next-best finish, coming in at seventh with a time of 20:55. Junior Ryan Birkholz and sophomores Peter Wood and Ryan Little also ran for the Cowboys.
The women's team sent several people to the event, including several freshmen who led the way. Among those freshmen were Victoria Fratczak, Kristen Gillespie, Courtney Schultz, Brittani Johnson and Camille Schultz, who stayed in a group and had the top-five finishes for the Cowgirls, all finishing at about the 11:56 mark. Several other Cowgirls competed for training purposes.
The men's team competes again on Oct. 4 at the Cowboys Jamboree in
