Text Messages From The Cowboys
September 16, 2008 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
Each week during the cross country season, senior All-American and Big 12 Indoor champion Ryan Vail and freshman German Fernandez will give fans a text message-sized look into their lives with the newest feature on okstate.com, Text Messages From The Cowboys. Sometimes the topic will be cross country, sometimes it won't. This week's installment comes from Fernandez:
Being here in Stillwater these first few weeks has been a blast. I'm really getting along with the guys. OSU has been better than I expected, getting to meet new people and going out to football games has been a lot of fun. I learned that in Stillwater the weather can change quickly. It can be sunny at one moment then after few minutes there's lighting going on. Morning practices got tougher this past week, with our times dropping in our workouts. I was feeling tired but I had school work to worry about and running as well, but I got through it. Overall my experience at OSU just keeps on getting better especially with the Cowboy Jamboree coming up in three weeks. Everyone is excited to run and up for the challenge to win as a team. Having victory in our home turf will bring us confidence.
