Cowgirl Duo To Compete At Collegiate Reining Championships
June 27, 2008 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Two members of the Oklahoma State equestrian team will compete at the 2008 NRHA Collegiate Reining Championship Saturday in Oklahoma City.
Rachell Shobe and Leah Kuehn were selected by a committee and invited to the event, which is comprised of the top 12 collegiate reiners in the nation. Both OSU student-athletes will be juniors for the Cowgirls next season.
Shobe and Kuehn will be looking to become the first OSU reiner since Kristin Dickerson in 2003 to win the Collegiate Reining Championship title.
“It's a great honor to get two of our girls selected with only having 12 riders chosen,” said OSU equestrian head coach Larry Sanchez. “Either of them has a chance to win, and I hope we can bring home a championship.”
Saturday's championship will begin at 10 a.m. at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds.
