Castle Garners Academic All-District Honors

Megan Castle, a sophomore on the Oklahoma State softball team, has been named an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI second-team selection, it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Castle, the designated player for the Cowgirls, is third on the team with her .424 slugging percentage and is fourth in batting with a .312 average. She has compiled 25 runs batted in, six doubles, two home runs and a triple this season.

In the classroom, the Newcastle, Okla., native sports a 3.55 grade point average while majoring in nutritional sciences with an allied health option.

Castle and the rest of the Cowgirls take on Texas in the Big 12 Championship this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Don E. Porter/ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
