Cowgirl Softball Takes on Jayhawks in Lawrence

Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team travels to Lawrence, Kan., this weekend for a two-game series with the Kansas Jayhawks. Game times are set for 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 o'clock on Sunday.

OSU is 24-22 overall this season and 7-7 in Big 12 Conference action. The Cowgirls' seven league wins are the most in the last three seasons. With four regular-season conference games to be played, Oklahoma State has an opportunity to record the most league wins in the last five years.

The Cowgirls were projected in the preseason to finish eighth in the league in a vote of the conference coaches. Currently, OSU is in fifth place in the Big 12 standings, 1-1/2 games out of third place.

Kansas is 34-15 overall this season and 4-8 in league play. The Jayhawks are coming off a sweep of a doubleheader over Wichita State on Thursday night. The Shockers failed to score in either game against KU. The Â‘Hawks are currently in seventh place in the Big 12 standings, one game out of sixth.
