Vail Qulaifies in 1,500 Meters

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Â The Oklahoma State men's track and field team fared well at the John McDonnell Invitational Saturday, especially senior Ryan Vail, who finished the 1,500-meter run in 3:44.22 and qualified for the NCAA regional.
Sophomore David Chirchir, who won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finished the event in 9:07.20, which was his season best time and only 0.20 seconds from hitting the NCAA regional qualifying mark.
Senior Alejandro Ruiz finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:53.96.
Sophomore Brad McNiff finished seventh in the event with a time of 3:56.77.
Freshman Ryan Caldwell, the only Cowboy competing in the 400-meter dash, finished the event in 51.34 seconds.
The Cowboys return to action next week at the Oregon Relays and the Sooner Invitational.
