Cowgirls Complete Bedlam Sweep with Win in Norman

The Cowgirls finished off OSU's two-match sweep of the Sooners after the men's team picked up a, 6-1, win over OU in
“This was a very impressive win by our girls in poor conditions today,” said Cowgirl head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. “We got down early with the tough doubles loss at No. 3, but our girls never gave up. They stuck together and kept encouraging one another. We are very excited to do our part in the Bedlam sweep.”
In doubles play, OSU's senior duo of Iryna Tkachenko and Yawna Allen picked up an 8-3 win at No. 2, but an 8-4 loss at No. 1 and a heartbreaking 9-7 loss at No. 3 gave OU the doubles point.
In singles play, OSU suffered losses at No. 1 and No. 2, but battled hard to pick up wins at Nos. 3, 4, and 5. With the match tied at 3-3, Jessica Collins battled back from a 6-4 loss in the first set to win the second two sets, 7-5, 6-3, giving OSU the 4-3 win.
“All the girls played extremely well today,” said Lubicz-Majewski. “Jessica came through in a big way at No. 6 to clinch the match for us. She has been playing great tennis lately, and she continued to do so today.”
With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 10-8 on the season, with a 4-5 mark in conference play. OSU will be back at home on Friday as it will host
