Equestrian Duo Honored At Academic Banquet

A pair of riders for the Oklahoma State equestrian team were honored this week for their work in the classroom as Erin Prutow and Brittany Myers were both recognized at the Student-Athlete Academic Awards Banquet.
Prutow, a freshman for the Cowgirls, has been selected to attend the NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla. it was announced. The Newtown, Penn., native will be one of 700 athletes taking part in the conference, which will be held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., from May 25-29.
Prutow was recognized for her outstanding academics and leadership as one of the only freshmen in the country to be selected to go the event. She will attend as a representative of the Big 12 Conference.
A pre-law major, Prutow capped her first semester at Oklahoma State with a 4.0 GPA.
Prutow earned her first MVP of the season against Baylor, in equitation over fences.
Senior Brittany Myers was also recognized at Monday's banquet. A native of Jenks, Okla., she received the fourth-year academic award, was a Senior Director's Chair Winner, and was also recognized for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout her four years.
Myers has competed in both equitation over fences and equitation on the flat for the Cowgirl English team.
