Cowgirl Softball Falls at Wichita State, 7-0

Bright (7-5) recorded eight strikeouts and gave up just one walk as Wichita State improved to 12-7. Meanwhile, the Cowgirl pitching staff was unable to keep the Shockers off the scoreboard.
WSU took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run single by senior Katie McGeeney. It was all the scoring the Shockers would need. Wichita State added five runs in the fourth on four hits, an error and a walk.
Alysia Hamilton and Breana Casaus picked up the only hits of the game for Oklahoma State.
Freshman Amanda Crabtree started in the circle for OSU and allowed all seven runs, just three earned, in 3-1/3 innings. She fell to 5-7. Sophomore Anna Whiddon came on in the fourth and threw 2-2/3 innings, striking out four while walking one.
Oklahoma State (10-10) will open the home portion of its schedule this weekend as Cowgirls host the Mizuno Classic at the Cowgirl Softball Complex, Friday through Sunday.
