Cowgirl Equestrian Drops Show in Manhattan
March 06, 2008 | Cowgirl Equestrian
Oklahoma State Equestrian (7-3) lost its third straight match of the season on Friday to Kansas State.
The Cowgirls were defeated 10-9 overall by the Wildcats. They dropped the English portion of the show 5-4, and tied the Western portion 5-5, before winning the tiebreaker.
Despite the loss, the Cowgirls picked three MVP's. Ally Blais received MVP for equitation over fences, while Sarah Summers picked up MVP honors for equitation on the flat and Leah Kuehn for reigning.
“We are very proud of the way they rode, commented Head Coach Larry Sanchez. “It always shows good character when our girls can go in and ride an opposing team's horses so well.”
All three of the Cowgirl's losses have come by a combined four points. They travel to College Station next Saturday to take on the Aggies before returning home on March 15 to finish out the season against Fresno State.
