Cowgirls Split Two at Border Wars

In the first game of the evening, both TU and OSU scored in the first inning. The Cowgirls scored a run in the bottom of the first when senior Kim Kaye hit a two-out double that went to the wall scoring a run.
The Golden Hurricane (17-15) scored again in the second on a single that scored a runner from third. They took the lead 2-1 and held it until the fifth.
The Cowgirls (15-17) came back in the bottom of the fifth inning as Kaye hit a two-run single to shallow left center followed by an RBI-single from Megan Castle who hit the ball into the same hole in left center to take a two-run lead and keep it. Kaye went 2-for-3 in the game and had three RBI's.
Sophomore Anna Whiddon threw the complete game for the Cowgirls and got her third win of the season to improve to 3-4. She gave up five hits for two runs and struck out three.
Jackie Lawrence threw for the Golden Hurricane and got the loss to fall to 8-7. She gave up nine hits for four runs.
In the second game of the evening, the Cowgirls faced the Lady Razorbacks (23-13) for the third time this season. Neither team scored until the bottom of the sixth inning when
Katy Henry threw a complete game shutout for
Sarah Odom threw for the Cowgirls and gave up 10 hits for four runs, struck out three while walking one as she drops to 5-4.
