Cowgirls Lose Conference Opener at Missouri

Columbia, Mo. Â Oklahoma State softball loses its Big 12 opener to Missouri 9-1 in five innings.
The Tigers (29-7, 1-0) got a big lead in the first inning and scored seven runs, including four from a grand slam by right fielder Kathryn Poet.
The Cowgirls (14-15, 0-1) responded in the second inning when Kim Kaye scored on a fielder's choice by Ashley Boyd. It would be the only run in the game for OSU.
Oklahoma State held Missouri scoreless until the fifth inning when shortstop Abby Vock hit a double to score Andee Allen and Shana White to end the game.
Senior Jen Bruck started for Missouri and threw five innings giving up three hits for one unearned run. She is now 8-3.
Amanda Crabtree started in the circle for the Cowgirls and faced eight batters and gave up four hits for seven runs before Sarah Odom came in for relief. Odom threw four innings and gave up four hits for two runs. Crabtree received the loss and falls to 7-9.
OSU will play Missouri again in Columbia on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
