Cowgirls Split Two in Florida

In the first game of the day, the Cowgirls snapped USF's 11-game win streak as they took an early lead in the first inning and never gave it up.
In the first, freshman Alysia Hamilton hit single to left field scoring Mariah Gearhart and Megan Castle. Junior Heather Kim then hit a double to right-center field to score
OSU (14-13) added an insurance run in the second as Katelyn Bright hit a single up the middle to score Jessica Meza from second.
Sophomore Anna Whiddon picked up the win for the Cowgirls and threw her second complete game of the year. She gave up five hits, struck out six and walked one. She improves to 2-2.
The Bulls (20-9) only run came from a sacrifice fly from JoJo Medina in the sixth inning that scored Britta Giddens. Their pitcher, Kristen Gordon, drops to 1-5 on the season after five innings of work. She gave up four hits for four runs and walked four.
In the second game of the day against
Kaye hit her ninth home run of the season to start the inning. She was followed by singles from Hamilton, Kim and Ashley Boyd. However OSU wouldn't cross home plate again in the game.
Fordham (8-13) scored one in the second inning from an RBI-single by Meghan Shager. The Rams scored two runs off two hits in the fifth inning and two more runs in the sixth from a two RBI-single by the pitcher Allison Twarowski. She also picked up the win for Fordham after coming in to pitch in the second inning and is now 4-3.
Sarah Odom threw all six innings for the Cowgirls and fell to 5-3.
