MAKING THE CALL!

New Student Call Center
New to OSU Athletics, an outbound call center was implemented several months ago to connect alumni, parents, ticket holders, friends and fans to current opportunities. Four nights a week, trained part-time workers (OSU students) make outbound calls to these audiences. Besides updating records and sharing current events, our team's mission is to help more people commit to support OSU Athletics through their philanthropic gifts and ticket purchases. Special current promotions and opportunities are also presented (for example, purchasing new ticket packages in the new West End Zone, joining the POSSE and receiving six issues of the new departmental magazine, etc.). For example, for the Women's Basketball game against Texas Tech on March 1, 2008, the Call Center crew contacted OSU fans and sold more than 1,600 additional tickets to come watch our Top 20 ranked ladies perform in Gallagher Iba Arena.
New Thank-you-thon
With the help of Coach Gundy and staff, we recently used the center to have our football student athletes contact and thank our donors for their financial support and ask them to continue their tradition of giving. Coach Gundy is to be thanked for his cooperative vision in this new initiative. Quite a few supporters got a kick out of having Zac Robinson, Richetti Jones and other football players personally call with a message of sincere appreciation for supporting OSU Athletics. With exceptional results, the administration is exploring an expanded platform using student athletes from each sport to contact our supporters in their respective off season.
