Cowboys Dominate Rogers State in Exhibition Action, 112-75
November 06, 2008 | Cowboy Basketball
Oklahoma State scored early and often, taking a 22-7 lead at the 11:24 mark of the first half when Harris hit one of his six three pointers. The Cowboys took their largest lead of the first period when Harris hit another trey 30 seconds before intermission, giving the Pokes a 55-27 halftime lead.
The scoring margin fluctuated between 29 and 36 points throughout most of the second half before Brad Garrett hit a three-pointer with 19 seconds left in the game to give Oklahoma State a 37-point victory. It was Garrett's first live game action since the fifth game of last season when he injured his shoulder during the trip to Maui.
It was a dramatic difference from the game between these two same teams a year ago. OSU pulled off a nine-point win over the Hillcats last January in a regular-season contest. In that game, the Cowboys had 71 possessions and scored 62 points. In this game, OSU scored 112 points on 90 possessions.
Harris led five players in double figures. Senior guard Byron Eaton scored 13 points and had seven assists, while junior guard Obi Muonelo scored 12 points and had seven rebounds. Sophomore James Anderson and freshman Keiton Page scored 10 points each.
Oklahoma State returns to action for its final exhibition game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 8, as the Cowboy host the Langston Lions at 3 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
