Frequently Asked Questions
to return to Speaker's Bureau page.
What is the Speaker's Bureau?
The Speakers Bureau is one of the ways OSU Athletics gives back to the community, providing speakers for schools, clubs and other organizations. The speeches will motivate, inspire, educate, and entertain your group.
Can any organization be involved?
Your organization must be non-profit, and must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under 26 U.S.C. 501(c)3.Â
If you are a for-profit organization, please contact the individual coach's office directly.
Due to NCAA rules, the OSU Athletics Department may NOT comply with requests from or which will benefit:
 High Schools
 Preparatory schools
 Junior Colleges
Youth athletics organizations that include prospects OR other organizations that include only young people defined by the NCAA as prospects (young people in grades nine and up who have yet to enroll full-time in a university) or their teachers or coaches.
Can organizations request a specific coach, administrator or staff member?
Yes. However, your first choice may not be available based on schedules or other commitments. In addition, practice, competition and camp schedules take priority over speaking engagements.Â
NOTE: the most requested speakers are generally Coach Gundy, Coach Ford, and Coach Budke. Unfortunately because of this, they are also the most likely to turn down a speaking engagement because of the volume of requests. Please be sure to list alternate coaches/administrators as well.
I would like to request a speaker whose sport is in season
We strongly suggest that you do not request a coach whose sport is in season. While the coach may want to speak at your event, situations may arise at the last minute that may preclude him/her from speaking.Â
Can I suggest a topic?
Absolutely! We urge any group to suggest a topic.
How do I request a speaker?
All requests must be submitted in writing. You can submit the form by the form.
We cannot guarantee that a speaker will be available for your event.
How can I request a student-athlete as a speaker?
Due to the significant time demands placed on our student-athletes, they will not be available to speak through the Athletics Speaker's Bureau. Should you wish to have a student-athlete appear at an event, please coordinate this directly through the head coach's office of the student-athlete's sport.
