Oklahoma State University Athletics

Ticket Prices Update
January 09, 2008 | General
As football tickets prices have modestly increased over the last several seasons, we continue to educate fans how their money is used and what impact they are making on Oklahoma State University. Ticket holders are not just buying football tickets and paying seat donations. They are supporting all student-athletes, academically and athletically, and providing critical funding for a nationally respected, well-rounded sports program. (Oklahoma State is ranked fourth in the country with 48 NCAA titles; only three schools  UCLA, USC and Stanford  have more national championships.)
Despite ticket price increases, the vast majority of fans (96%) renew season tickets each year. They tell us their families are enjoying many elements surrounding gameday in Stillwater  these include children's activities in the exterior plazas, a great pre-game and tailgating environment, new premium stadium amenities such as Club Seating, new restrooms and new concessions, accessible donor parking and improved traffic flow in and out of Stillwater. Couple that with an improving team, an explosive offense and incredibly competitive contests, and it makes for an exciting overall gameday experience. That stated, we believe it is important to communicate the fact that football revenues  generated from ticket sales and donor seat contributions  financially support the other seventeen OSU varsity sports. In other words, fans participating in OSU Football, and to a lesser degree OSU Men's Basketball, significantly contribute to success in our wrestling, golf, women's basketball, tennis, track and field, equestrian, baseball and softball programs. Our FY08 approximate revenue breakdown is as follows:
| Ticket Sales | $17,100,000 |
| Donor Seating, Club Seat, Suite, Donations | $9,400,000 |
| Multi Media Rights | $2,600,000 |
| Big 12/NCAA Distributions | $6,700,000 |
| Concessions, Misc. | $4,500,000 |
| Total | $40,300,000 |
Fans/Ticket Holders/Donor Seat patrons have stepped up and helped Oklahoma State climb from 10th to 9th place in the conference when comparing operating budgets. Given our improved position, we still have a long way to go to compete annually with schools like University of Oklahoma at $77 million and University of Texas at $107 million.
There has never been a better time to be a Cowboy. The commitment to excellence has never been clearer. The future is bright orange, and we are steadily climbing in Big 12 budget rankings and respectable performance in a greater number of sports.
If you are a season ticket holder, donor, POSSE member and contributor, thank you. You are making a difference.
Grateful regards and ... Go STATE!
Craig
