Oklahoma State Equestrian Starts Spring Semester with Miami of Ohio
January 24, 2008 | Cowgirl Equestrian
The Oklahoma State equestrian team (6-0) starts the season back up after a long break against Miami of Ohio. The Cowgirls will compete at the Animal Science Arena in Stillwater, Okla. at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008.
The Cowgirls rolled last semester to an undefeated 6-0 fall portion of the season. The team beat the defending national champions University South Carolina, as well as rival Texas A&M, and Big 12 foe, Baylor.
Since Miami of Ohio is not part of the Varsity Equestrian program, Saturday's show will be treated as a scrimmage and not count toward the Cowgirl's record.
The Cowgirl hunt seat team will be represented by senior Bailey Mahoney, sophomores Ally Blais and Jaclyn Osterstock, and freshmen Hannah Beresford and Alice White all riding in the fences category. For the flat section of the show the Cowgirls will be represented by seniors Bailey Mahoney and Michelle Woolschlager and juniors Sam Collingsworth, Charlotte Collingsworth, and Sarah Summers.
For the western team, seniors Sam Davidson and LeeAnna McNally, junior Jordan Pickelman, and sophomores Suzanne Randolph and Ashley Koch will represent the horsemanship discipline. The reining discipline will be represented by junior Jacque Roberts, sophomores Leah Kuehn, Rachell Shobe, and Molly Tipton, and freshman Brianna Parnell.
