Cowgirls Make Big Move at NCAA Championships

The biggest individual move of the day for Oklahoma State and the third-largest of the day was by Cowgirl freshman Sarah Bradley. The New Zealand native shot a one-over-par 73 and moved up 47 places from 95th to 48th.
“I got off to a good start from the start today,” said Bradley. “I picked up where I left off yesterday afternoon. I went out there and stuck to the game plan, taking one stroke at a time.”
Bradley was referencing Tuesday's round in which she started the tournament 11-over-par over the first eight holes before shooting three-under over the final 10.
Senior Mallorie Underwood made the second-best move of the day for OSU, moving up 31 spots to a tie for 79th place. The lone senior for the Cowgirls, Underwood carded a three-over 75, her best round in nearly two months. Sophomore Karin Kinnerud continued her steady play and finished with a two-over 74, moving up eight spots to 14th place to lead Oklahoma State.
“I think the girls were more comfortable out there today,” said OSU head coach Laura Matthews. “They appeared more at ease with the task at hand today. They just looked more comfortable with the golf course and the game plan. They went out and executed, for the most part. There's obviously still room for improvement, but at the same time, we did a good job today of moving up to where we are and we've still got two more days to get where we want to be.”
Oklahoma State enters Thursday's third round just six strokes out of the top 10 and 10 strokes away from joining the top five.
The Duke Blue Devils took over the top spot at 587 and currently leads second-place UCLA by seven strokes. Purdue is in third with a 597 while Stanford (599) and USC (601) round out the top-five teams. North Carolina, which was in second place after Tuesday's first round, carded a 321 and dropped 16 spots to 18th place.
The Cowgirls will play with Auburn and BYU Thursday and will tee off beginning at 9 a.m. eastern time. The tournament will continue with 18 holes on Thursday and conclude on Friday with a final round of 18.
