Pair of Cowgirls Named First Team All-Region
May 16, 2007 | Cowgirl Softball
Scott set the table for the Cowgirl lineup as she reached base half the time she came to the plate in the leadoff spot, and Totte was the run producer as she was able to drive her home.
Scott, a native of Enid, Okla., hit .384 for the season and tied a single-season school record with 56 runs scored. She set a new Cowgirl record with 40 walks in the 2007 campaign and stole a Big 12-record 51 bases. For her career, Scott was a .358 hitter, which ranks fourth all-time at Oklahoma State, and she set school records with 162 runs scored and 107 stolen bases.
Totte, a Lawton, Okla. native, was the first OSU player to hit over .400 since Jaimie Foutch did so in 1999. Totte had arguably the greatest season in the history of the OSU softball program as she hit .402 with a school record 14 home runs and a record 71 RBIs. Her 71 RBIs shattered the old record of 51 held by Foutch. Totte also slugged 17 doubles as she set a new record with a .763 slugging percentage.
Both players will be up for consideration for All-American status, which will be announced on the NFCA website, www.nfca.org, on May 30 at 4 p.m.
