Cowgirls Earn All-Big 12 Honors

Shanel Scott and Courtney Totte have had record breaking seasons in 2007 and today they were both recognized for their performance by being named first team All-Big 12, it was announced today.
The Big 12 had scheduled a ceremony after the first day of the Big 12 Softball Championships at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, but rain washed out both games and the ceremony.
Scott has established herself as one of the premier leadoff hitters in the country. She gets on base over half the time she comes to the plate and has established school records in walks and stolen bases. Her 50 stolen bases this season also set a single season Big 12 record. The

The Big 12 also announced the Academic All-Big 12 team with six
Three Cowgirl seniors were named to the Academic All-Big 12 second team. Scott and Totte were both named to the second team along with Shianne Cruce.
A player must compete in at least 60 percent of the team's schedule and maintain a 3.20 grade point average for first team or 3.0 for second team honors. Seniors who have spent at least two years on campus and meet all requirements except participation are also eligible.
