Huskers Run Rule Cowgirls Behind Big Sixth Inning, 9-1

Nebraska broke open a one-run game in the sixth inning with seven runs on eight hits and NU run ruled Oklahoma State, 9-1, at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.
The Cornhuskers opened the sixth when the first two hitters reached base and Crystal Carwile tucked in a three-run homer inside the rightfield foul pole. The Huskers continued the hit parade as five of the next six hitters recorded hits with Jamie Borg and Carmen Kier both recording doubles. Meghan Mullin hit a walk-off single to score Kier with the winning run.
Head coach Rich Wieligman rolled the dice early and had Krystle Sanchez lay down a suicide squeeze to score Shanel Scott from third to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Scott walked and stole second to lead off the game to set the Big 12 single season steals record with 49.
The Cowgirls conclude the regular season next weekend when Texas Tech visits Cowgirl Stadium. The first game is slated for Saturday at
