Husker Slam Beats Cowgirls, 5-2

Shanel Scott reached base her first two plate appearances and swiped second base both times to tie the Big 12 single season record with 48 steals. Scott scored in the third inning after stealing second and advancing to third on an error. Krystle Sanchez brought her home with an RBI groundout.
OSU starter Jessica Hoppock got in trouble in the fourth, after retiring nine of the first 10 hitters she faced to start the game. The Cornhuskers loaded the bases with no out and Jamie Waldecker hit a high fly ball that cleared the fence in left field for a grand slam.
Sam Heinlein led off the seventh inning with a pinch hit single in OSU's final opportunity to score. DeBuhr then retired the next three hitters with Katelyn Bright and Courtney Totte both lining out to first base to end the game.
Hill earned the victory and improved to 16-8 on the season, while DeBuhr picked up her fourth save. Hoppock took the loss as she had her shortest stint in Big 12 play allowing four runs in three innings of work to fall to 13-16 on the year.
