Trio of Cowgirls Land on All-Big 12 Team
April 27, 2007 | Cowgirl Golf
Sophomores Pernilla Lindberg and Karin Kinnerud, along with freshman Sarah Bradley, were named to the All-Big 12 squad.
It was the second such honor for both Lindberg and Kinnerud. Lindberg was a first-team member a year ago, while Kinnerud was a second-team selection.
Bradley was one of three freshman named to the 2007 All-Big 12 team. Prior to this season, only five freshman had been named to the All-Big 12 first team. Bradley is one of four Cowgirl freshmen to receive the honor.
Maria Bodén was a freshman when she was named first-team All-Big 12 in 1998, and Linda Wessberg was a frosh on the 2000 All-Big 12 first team. Lindberg became the third Cowgirl freshman last season.
All three Cowgirl golfers, along with sophomore Amanda Johnson, were also members of the Big 12 Championships all-tournament team.
In the past, the conference coaches voted on two separate five-person squads, a first and second team. This year, it was decided to vote on one 10-person team. The Big 12 Champion, Amanda Costner, was also added to the team, allowing for an 11-person squad.
