Cowgirls Shut Out Cyclones to Advance at Big 12 Championships

The Cowgirls (16-7) now lead the all-time series against ISU 30-0 and have advanced to the conference tourney quarterfinals for the second-straight season.
OSU got off to a good start after getting wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles to take the early 1-0 advantage.
Once singles play started, head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski got quick wins out of the No. 3, 4 and 6 positions to complete the shutout.
Senior Lauren Simmons struck first with a dominating, 6-3, 6-0, win over Alyssa Palen at No. 4 singles. Simmons, OSU's Female Student-Athlete of the Year, has now won nine of her last 10 singles matches.
Freshman Nataliya Shatkovskaya picked up her team-leading 17th win this spring by downing Caitlin Loprinzi, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3 singles.
Senior Jennifer Poskitt clinched the OSU win with a, 6-1, 6-2, victory over Eve Soriano at No. 6 singles. This has been Poskitt's most successful spring as she he has now won 13 matches this semester.
OSU moves on to face fourth-seeded Colorado (16-6, 9-2) in the quarterfinals Friday at noon. CU edged out the Cowgirls, 4-3, earlier this season in Boulder.
