Cowboy Cross Country Adds to Outstanding Class
April 20, 2007 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
Stublaski finished second at the 2006 Minnesota State Cross Country Championships after capturing fifth in the 1,600-meter run at last year's state track meet. During his career at Eagan's Sibley High School, Stublaski was a four-time all-state selection. His personal bests are 1:57 in the 800-meter run, 4:16 in the 1,600-meter run and 9:36 in the 3,200-meter run.
“We are very excited about Johnathan,” said Cowboy head coach Dave Smith. “He was a bit under the radar in high school and we feel like we got a very talented diamond in the rough. He a stronger, taller kid and we feel like he has a great shot at coming to Stillwater and having an instant impact on this program.”
Stublaski is the fifth runner to sign with Oklahoma State this spring. He comes into a Cowboy program that has finished in the top 10 in each of the last two NCAA Cross Country Championships.
