March 07, 2007 | Cowgirl Softball
Courtney Totte scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error by OCU catcher Erin Slettvet. Kim Kaye swiped second base and the throw got away allowing Totte to come home. Erin Blackburn then plated an insurance run with an RBI single to score Kaye.
Anna Whiddon benefited from the rally as she earned the victory in relief to move to 3-1 on the season. Whiddon allowed two runs on two hits in 2.1 innings of work.
OSU (12-12) jumped out to a 5-2 lead on a pair of RBIs from Totte, including her fifth home run of the season. Krystle Sanchez followed Totte's home run with a two-run blast of her own.
OCU (9-2) tied the game in the top of the fifth on a pair of home runs by Melody Murphy and Slettvet. The Stars continued the power surge in the sixth inning as Amanda Howard gave OCU the lead with a two-run homer to make it 7-5.
The Cowgirls battled back in the bottom half of the sixth to reclaim the lead, and held on as Whiddon got Slettvet to ground into a game ending double play.
