Cowgirl Netters Bounce Back to Upend Utah, 4-1

Oklahoma State's 48th-ranked women's tennis team bounced back from a disappointing, 6-1, loss to BYU yesterday to pick up their first road win of the season by downing Utah, 4-1, in Salt Lake City Thursday.
At No. 2 singles, Yawna Allen defeated Emily Kwok in three sets, 7-6, 2-6, 7-5. The junior has won three of her last four matches.
With a win at No. 3 singles, freshman Nataliya Shatkovskaya is now tied with Iryna Tkachenko for the team lead in wins. Shatkovskaya defeated Leigh Walsh, 6-3, 6-4, on Thursday. Tkachenko suffered the lone setback for OSU as she was edged out by the undefeated Elizabeth Ferris in three sets at the No. 1 spot.
Marta Tsivka played at No. 4 singles for just the second time this season and picked up her first win there by defeating Cheyenne Reveche, 6-2, 7-5.
Senior Lauren Simmons picked up her seventh dual win of the season with a, 6-4, 6-2, victory over Andrea Maughan at No. 5 singles.
The Cowgirls (9-3) will next travel to Tulsa for a big instate showdown against No. 37 Tulsa Saturday.
