Cowgirls Winning Streak Snapped by Cal Poly, 2-1

Oklahoma State's softball team had its three-game winning streak snapped by Cal Poly as the Mustangs scored the winning run on a double steal in the fourth inning and won, 2-1, on Friday morning at the Anderson Family Field in Fullerton, Calif.
Jackie Gehrke-Jones swiped second base, and Melissa Pura took off for home and made it safely to plate the go-ahead run. Robyn Kontra then shut down the Cowgirl offense as OSU could only tally one hit over the final three innings.
Cal Poly improved to 11-4 on the season, while OSU dropped to 10-9 on the year. The Mustangs have now won the last four meetings over OSU.
Jessica Hoppock started in the circle for OSU and allowed two runs on four hits, while striking out seven. Hoppock, however, suffered the loss and fell to 9-5 on the season.
Poly got on the scoreboard first when Lisa Modglin hit a lead-off home run for the Mustangs in the bottom of the first.
OSU evened the game in the third inning when Shanel Scott and Katelyn Bright hit back-to-back singles that brought Sadie Krywicki home from first.
