Cowgirl Netters Shut out Tigers

Oklahoma State's 50th-ranked lady netters shutout Big 12 foe Missouri, 7-0, in Stillwater Saturday to notch their eighth victory of the season. The shutout was O-State's second in a row and the Cowgirls are now 3-2 in the Big 12.
The Cowgirls secured the ever important doubles point with a clean sweep at all three doubles positions. At No. 3 doubles, Marta Tsivka and Zuzanna Osinska teamed up for the first time this season and won, 8-2, against Chrissy Svetlic and Kaitlin Dunham.
It was more of the same in singles as action as O-State won all six singles matches in straight sets.
At No. 1 singles, junior Iryna Tkachenko got her 50th-career win as she defeated Amanda Pratzel, 6-0, 6-3.
Yawna Allen picked up her second straight win at No. 2 singles when she downed Erika Josbena, 7-5, 6-1.
Nataliya Shatkovskaya, off to a great start to her collegiate career, kept it going as she notched a victory over Svetlic, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3 singles. The freshman is tied for the team lead with seven singles wins this spring.
Lauren Simmons kept the Cowgirls going with her second-straight solid outing at No. 4 singles. Simmons, a senior, defeated Dunham, 6-4, 6-0.
At No. 5 singles, Tsivka took a step closer to defending her Big 12 Championship as she moved her Big 12 record to 4-1 when she beat Katelyn McKenzie, 6-4, 6-4.
Jennifer Poskitt also moved her Big 12 record to 4-1 after downing Raquel Wagner, 6-0, 6-2, at the No. 6 spot. The senior is now 6-0 in her career against the Tigers.
