Cowboys Drop Heartbreaker To Texas, 38-35

After OSU's Jason Ricks' 32-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right with 1:13 left, the Longhorns drove 57 yards in eight plays to set up Bailey for the game-winning points.
OSU sophomore quarterback Zac Robinson set a school record with 430 yards passing and the Cowboys racked up 594 yards of total offense, but it was not enough as the Pokes dropped to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas improved to 7-3 and 4-2 in league play. Jamaal Charles rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns, while Colt McCoy thew for 282 yards and a score and also rushed for 106 yards to lead the Longhorns' attack.
OSU took a 35-14 lead into the fourth quarter, but Charles' second touchdown run of the game cut UT's deficit to 14.
Just over four minutes later, Charles broke loose for a 75-yard touchdown run that made the score 35-28 with 7:30 remaining.
Texas would tie the score at 35-35 on a one-yard scoring plunge by Vondrell McGee with 3:22 left on the clock.
Following that play, OSU drove 45 yards to the UT 15-yard line, but Ricks could not give the Cowboys the lead as he missed his second field goal of the contest.
OSU jumped out to a 21-0 lead just 36 seconds into the second quarter.
The Cowboys scored on the game's first possession on a four-yard touchdown run by Dantrell Savage. On the very next play from scrimmage, Jacob Lacey intercepted a pass by McCoy and raced 39-yards to the end zone to give the Cowboys a 14-0 advantage.
Early in the second quarter, Robinson capped an 88-yard scoring drive with a seven-yard run to put OSU up by three scores.
Texas answered on its ensuing possession, getting on the scoreboard on a 22-yard run by Charles to make the score 21-7.
The Longhorns cut into OSU's lead again midway through the second quarter on a 20-yard scoring strike from McCoy to Jermichael Finley to make the score 21-14.
This time, it would be OSU answering as Brandon Pettigrew caught a one-yard touchdown pass on fourth down on the final play of the first half to send the Cowboys into intermission with a 28-14 lead.
Savage finished with 103 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, while Lacey recorded a career-high three interceptions.
