Meuchel helped Michelle Gardner build the Nevada program from the ground up. He served three years as Gardner's top assistant and the last year as the associate head coach. Nine players earned All-Wac honors under Meuchel during his stint coaching the Wolfpack.
Nevada won the WAC championship and earned an NCAA Tournament berth in just its fourth year of existence.
Meuchel was part of the coaching staff for the Greek Olympic team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He also served on staff during United States and European tour. Of his many responsibilities he had both on and off the field, his main role was scouting Olympic opponents
The Missoula, Mont. native began his coaching career as soon as he completed his degree at Arizona State, where he served as a student manager and began coaching as a volunteer assistant. While serving as a student manager for the Sun Devils, Meuchel was the director of summer camp until the year 2000.
McNeese State gave Meuchel his first taste as a coach when he was hired on as an assistant. He worked with the hitters and the infield and served as recruiting coordinator in his one year with Cowgirl program.
Meuchel coached ASA 18-Gold Softball for three years. He had numerous players go on to play at the collegiate level for some of the top programs in the country including: Arizona, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Indiana, Nevada and McNeese State.
In 2000, Meuchel graduated from Arizona State with a dgree in psychology.
