2007 Ticket Prices
As we focus on the "complete fan experience" associated with Oklahoma State Athletics, we certainly appreciate alumni, donors and ticket holder's commitment to support Cowboy and Cowgirl sports.
With this in mind, your administrators set OSU Football ticket prices last year within an overall strategic plan. Each department/administrative representative gathered feedback in the marketplace and had input relative to changes in football ticket pricing. This team studied the intercollegiate market, our pricing structure, national and conference comparisons, trends, and Oklahoma State Athletics plans regarding the vision to be competitive in each sport. Also studied were current expenses relative to the operating budget.
Ultimately, and weighing many factors, season ticket prices were increased $10.00 per game for the '07 season. This move brought us closer to competing with Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Nebraska (a challenge when faced with having the smallest stadium in the conference  OSU's operating budget is still ranked in the bottom third of the Big 12 Conference).
New Demand; New SupportersÂ
Despite the increase, 1000 new ticket holders stepped up and added to last year's ticket holder base (significant in a non-OU schedule).
Fans were willing to pay a little more in order to invest in the immediate future  there is a strong desire to “climb above” the Cowboy's overall football winning record of .480.
We believe several things are happening:
- alumni/supporters/fans understand the importance of investing in the future of a nationally competitive football program
- alumni/supporters/fans understand football can deliver necessary funding to support all eighteen OSU varsity sports [football season ticket revenue and donor seating funds helps provide scholarships for student-athletes in football, basketball, golf, track, baseball, soccer, softball, equestrian, etc.]
- alumni/supporters/fans understand Mr. Pickens gift(s) allows OSU to build a $300 million, state-of-the-art, fan-friendly and student-athlete-friendly stadium (but that his gift does not affect the annual operating budget)
- OSU Athletics is at a unique milestone; it is a great time to be a Cowboy
In terms of demand and capacity, most of the 2006 games were either at or very near capacity for our regular seating areas [the exception was our club area; this premium area is at 75% capacity and continues to grow in popularity]
For 2007, excellent crowds are represented by students, ticket holders and top donors. Orange-clad audiences have provided a compelling home field component  particularly in the Texas Tech and Kansas State victories. We look forward to extending this demand into the west end zone in 2008 and beyond.
Our hope is you will renew your tickets and continue supporting Cowboy and Cowgirl teams. Our recruiting has been very promising, our coaching staff is highly qualified, we are working on completing the west end zone with new fan amenities at a $5M per month rate, and we have excellent momentum coming off several conference victories.
Thank you!
We are grateful for your loyal support.
