Cowgirls Picked Seventh in the Big 12

OSU received 28 points for seventh. Texas A&M was voted as the league favorite with 80 points, receiving eight of the 10 first-place votes. Defending Big 12 champion Texas was picked fifth. Baylor and Oklahoma each received a first-place vote.
Oklahoma State opens the season on Feb. 9 at the Texas State Tournament in San Marcos, Texas. The Cowgirls open up at home on Feb. 20 against North Texas.
Rich Wieligman is entering his first season at the helm of the Cowgirl softball program. The Cowgirls went 21-29 and finished eighth in the Big 12 a year ago. They knocked off top-seeded Texas in the Big 12 Championship, but were eliminated in extra innings by Nebraska.
