Cowgirls Set to Host OSU Fall Invitational

Oklahoma State's softball team will host the OSU Fall Invitational on Saturday, welcoming Oklahoma Christian, Seminole State and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma for an all day event at Cowgirl stadium.

The Cowgirls will play three games, matching up against OCU at 11 a.m., Seminole State at 3 p.m. and closing out with a 7 p.m. contest with USAO.

The Cowgirls opened the inaugural season for head coach Rich Wieligman on Thursday with a bang, posting a 16-2 victory over Northern Oklahoma College. In the 12-inning exhibition, Oklahoma State knocked out 22 hits, led by senior Lauren Kitchens, who finished 3-4 with a pair of two-run doubles.

In the circle, senior Jessica Hoppock was nearly perfect for the Cowgirls, striking out eight of the nine batters she faced.
