Cowgirl Golfers Finish 11th at NCAA Fall Preview

Sophomore Pernilla Lindberg carded an even-par 72 and finished 14th individually. Amanda Johnson, a Jenks, Okla. native, shot a one-over 73 and finished with a 228 individual score, tying her for 46th place.
Senior Mallorie Underwood finished strong with a 74 and ended the tournament with a 234, tying fellow senior Candy Herrera for 63rd place. Karin Kinnerud shot a 75 during the final round and finished with a 231, good for 56th place.
As a team, the Cowgirls finished strong. Lindberg was three-under on her final eight holes, while Underwood was one-under over the last 15. Herrera was even over her final 12 holes, while Johnson did the same over the final seven.
Georgia won the team title by nine strokes over top-ranked Duke, which finished in second place. UCLA shot the best round of the tournament with a 283 and finished third. Auburn and Vanderbilt rounded out the top-five teams.
Oklahoma State will return to action on Oct. 6 when the Cowgirls travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to compete in the Franklin Street Partners Invitational.
