Marty Sargent has been in college athletics as a football coach and in athletic administration for 30 years. The last 24 years have been spent at
Prior to coming to OSU, Sargent was a football coach at
Sargent started his tenure at OSU as a member of the Pat Jones' football staff. He was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the football program and was responsible for arranging and coordinating activities related to football team travel for home and away games. Throughout his stay at OSU, Sargent has continued his involvement with football team travel and post season travel for basketball and baseball. He was a member of the university's team travel task force that was responsible for developing a national model for transporting athletic teams to sporting events.
Sargent has been involved in major construction projects at OSU. As a member of the construction team, he has been involved in the designing and building of the
Sargent has oversight responsibility for game management for all OSU athletic events. He oversees the coordination of athletic event management operations with athletic department, campus and off campus groups. Sargent is also a member of the
