Equestrian Completes First Day at IHSA National Championships

In the team competition, the Hunt Seat team is currently in ninth place with two points while Penn State is leading the team portion with 17 points.
The Cowgirl scoring came by way of Brittany Myers in Novice Fences. The sophomore placed fifth in the team event to get OSU on the board. Myers also competed, individually, in Novice Flat and placed seventh.
Michelle Woolschlager took home eighth place in the team section of Intermediate Flat. The sophomore also placed sixth in the individual competition of Novice Fences.
Caitlyn Roberts competed in the individual competition of Intermediate Fences and took home fifth place.
Bailey Mahoney is competing in the Cacchione Cup which is a competition between the top Hunt Seat riders from each region in the country. Mahoney is currently in 19th place after the first day.
The IHSA National Championships will continue Friday at the Farm Show arena in Harrisburg, Pa.
