Vail Finishes Third; Qualifies for National Meet

Vail, a native of Gresham, Ore., garnered third-place honors in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:23.51, making him the only freshman in the Midwest Region to qualify for the national meet in the event.
“This is a huge deal for Ryan to qualify as a freshman,” said Cowboy assistant coach Dave Smith. “He has been gearing his whole year towards this event ever since he qualified and he came out and did an outstanding job.”
