Cowgirls Blown Away in Bedlam, 15-1
April 06, 2006 | Cowgirl Softball
The first Bedlam softball game was no contest as Oklahoma (25-13-1, 2-5 Big 12) scored early and often to run rule Oklahoma State (16-17, 2-3 Big 12), 15-1, in front of a sell out crowd on Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.
OU has won seven consecutive games in the series and the 14 run margin is the second largest in the series since OU won 16-0 in 2001.
The Sooners jumped on the Cowgirls early going up
OU poured it on in the third inning plating six runs. The Sooners hit three doubles in the frame and Susan Ogden had the big blast hitting a two-run home run that put OU up 13-0.
OU added two more runs in the fourth inning as Jade Prather and Mariee Mena each had RBI singles to put the Sooners up 15.
OSU tried to get back in it as Courtney Totte led off the fourth inning with a double. She eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Shianne Cruce. The Cowgirls just dug too big a hole that they could not get out of.
OSU got base runners in the fifth inning but OU took advantage of force outs getting two outs at third base before Totte popped out to end the game.
