Cowgirls Tennis Ready for Big 12 Championships

The Cowgirls (13-9, 6-5), who are ranked No. 51 in the latest ITA Rankings, are the six seed and will face No. 11 seed Missouri (10-11, 1-10) in the first round on Thursday at noon.
Oklahoma State defeated the Tigers, 5-2, on April 2 in Columbia. Oklahoma State was able to win the doubles point and pick up individual victories from Lauren Simmons, Zana Masnic, Marta Tsivka and Jennifer Poskitt.
These two team also faced off in the first round of last year's championships with the Tigers winning, 4-3. Oklahoma State is 21-4 all-time against Missouri.
Missouri is coming off a 7-0 loss to No. 36 Texas A&M last Sunday. The Tigers lone conference win this season came against Iowa State.
Oklahoma State, who last won the Big 12 Championship in 2003, is coming off a close, 4-3, loss at Texas Tech last Saturday.
The winner of the Oklahoma State/Missouri match up will face No. 3 seed Texas at 11 a.m. on Friday. The Cowgirls were defeated, 6-1, by the Longhorns, then ranked No. 15 in the country, earlier this season in Stillwater. After the loss, Oklahoma State won six straight matches and seven of their next eight.
