Baylor Too Much for Cowgirls, Fall 8-6

Monceaux hit a three-run homer in in the decisive third inning, her second of the game, to lead Baylor to victory. The Bears scored four runs in the frame to break open a 3-3 game. The Cowgirls had just tied the game in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Ashlyn Watson.
OSU starter Jessica Hoppock (12-17) settled down allowing just two base runners until the seventh inning giving the OSU offense a chance to climb back into the game. The Cowgirls cut the deficit to two in the fifth inning when Ashleigh Tweed scored on a wild pitch and Lauren Kitchens connected on an RBI double.
The Bears added an insurance run in the seventh. The Cowgirls plated a run of their own in the seventh to make it 8-6. Lisa Ferguson, the Baylor starting pitcher, reentered after being taken out and shut the door to pick up her fourth save of the season. Monceaux (5-3) pitched three innings of relief allowing one run on three hits to pick up the victory.
Tweed hit her sixth home run of the season in the top of the first. Courtney Totte hit a double and a triple, while Kitchens connected on two doubles. Totte's double was the 30th of her career, she is just the fourth Cowgirl to hit 30 doubles for her career.
Oklahoma State will hold Senior Day festivities before the series finale tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. and can be heard live on 780 AM.
