Cowboy Veterans Lead the Way in Norman

On a day that high temperatures and strong winds made for tough running conditions, Cowboy veterans Sean McCabe and Ryan Ripley showed their experience as they finished in the top three in their respected events.

Three other OSU freshmen competed in the 1,500-meter run. Ryan Birkholz finished eighth while Montana Keller and Chad Johnson finished 11th and 12th, respectively.
In the 800-meter run, senior Sean McCabe finished third with a personal best time of 1:54.28 to lead the Pokes. Cowboy sophomore Brian Wall also finished in the top ten in the event. His time of 1:59.36 was good for eighth place while sophomore Aaron Rivera finished 17th with a time of 2:04.51.
Also for the Pokes, junior Terry Josserand finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.96 and junior Ibrahim Niankara finished 12th in the 100-meter dash and 18th in the 200-meter dash.
“It is tough to get things dome when it is as hot and windy as it was today,” said Cowboy Assistant Coach Dave Smith. “I thought Ryan (Ripley) and Sean (McCabe) both did a great job today despite the tough conditions.”
