Weems, a senior from Lake Quivira, Kan., is a two-time class 6A cross country state champion as well as a two-time Kansas City Star First-Team All-Metro Selection. Weems comes to OSU from a Shawnee Mission Northwest High School program that has won 12 straight cross country state titles.
As a junior in 2004, Weems finished fifth at the Nike Team National Championships in Portland, Ore. He also holds a spot on the top-ten fastest times at historic Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan., with a time of 15:35 in the 2005 state meet.
“Tucker is one of the fastest kids in the Midwest as well as one of the top recruits in the nation,” said Cowboy Assistant Coach Dave Smith. “He has been one of the guys at the top of our list and we believe that he is a guy who could get here and have an instant impact on this program.”
