Five Crowned Champions at Equestrian Regional Championships

Oklahoma State's equestrian team had five individuals crowned regional champions at the Zone 7 Region 2 Championships in College Station, Texas, on Sunday.
Sophomores Natalie Chappell and Brittany Meyers took home top honors in Novice Fences and Novice Flat, respectively.
Senior Laryn Burns also took home a regional championship on Sunday. The Stillwater, Okla., native placed first in Beginner Horsemanship.
A pair of juniors rounded out the group of individual champions. Cory Johnson won top honors in Intermediate Flat while Rachel Curratt placed first in Reining.
Outside of the five champions, the Cowgirls also qualified 11 riders for the Zone 7 Championships. The top 3 finishers in each class advance to the Zone Championships that will be held in Stillwater, Okla., on April 9.
Cowgirls Brittany Snider, Michelle Woolschlager, Karrie Kehr, Cory Johnson, Amanda Yancey, Nicole Stec, Beth Moe, Brianne Wiebe and Samantha Davidson all finished in the top three of their respective classes and will advance to the Zone 7 Championships.
The top two riders in each class at the Zone Championships will advance on to the IHSA National Championships in Harrisburg, Pa., on May 4-7.
The Cowgirls will next be in action at the Zone 7 Championships in Stillwater, Okla., on April 9.
