Equestrian Looks to Complete Sweep of Region
March 02, 2006 | Cowgirl Equestrian
“We are neck-and-neck with Texas A&M going into this weekend,” said head coach Larry Sanchez. “We are going to have to be near perfect in our riding to maintain and hold our lead.”
Oklahoma State currently holds a slight seven-point lead over Texas A&M in the region. The winner of the points race will represent the region at the Zone Championships in Stillwater on April 9. The English team won its regional championship on March 5 in College Station.
The Cowgirls will also try to qualify several more individuals for the March 26 regional championships, also in College Station. Senior Laryn Burns and junior Elizabeth Moe have already qualified.
“The girls are all in the right place mentally and in their riding going into the weekend,” said Sanchez. “Hopefully, we can bring back the regional championship.”
