Hoppock Hurls Cowgirls Past Truman State in Double Header Sweep

Oklahoma State's softball team evened its record at 11-11 after sweeping a doubleheader from Truman State winning the first game, 13-0, and coming back to claim the second game, 3-1, at the Cowgirl Softball Complex on Monday afternoon.
The Cowgirls started the season 2-9, but they have won nine of their last 11 games to get back to .500.
The Cowgirls defeated
Starter Jessica Hoppock (5-7) was dominant on the mound throwing a complete game shutout as she allowed just three hits while striking out 12 hitters.
Courtney Totte and Kaye hit back-to-back doubles in the third inning and both came around to score as OSU scored three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Chelsey Barclay and Hoppock did the rest closing out the Bulldogs. Barclay (3-4) earned the win allowing one run on six hits, while Hoppock came on in relief to pitch the final two innings and struck out five hitters to earn her second save of the season. Hoppock recorded 17 strikeouts in the double header sweep.
Kaye went 4-for-6 with a home run and six RBIs in the double header. Totte went 3-for-5, while Shianne Cruce was perfect on the day going 3-for-3 with three runs batted in.
Oklahoma State will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii for the Hawaii Invitational beginning on Thursday afternoon when the Cowgirls face Longwood at 1 p.m. (CST) followed by a game with San Diego State.
