Sullivan, Kaye Named to British National Softball Team
March 10, 2006 | Cowgirl Softball
Sullivan and Kaye will participate in the Francesco Sanna Tournament in Italy and the London Cup in June. Following those two tournaments, a second cut will be made to determine the team Great Britain will send to the USA World Cup and the World Softball Championships.
Sullivan played one full season at Oklahoma State where she hit .301 with three home runs and 26 RBIs and led the Cowgirls to the 1998 Women's College World Series. Her career ended prematurely when she suffered a neck injury that fall.
Kaye is in her first season as a Cowgirl after transferring from Palomar Junior College. The sophomore has started all 20 games at first base and is hitting .265 on the year with two home runs and is second on the team with 13 RBIs.
"It is a big honor for Kim and I both to be considered among the best players in Great Britain," Sullivan said. "We are excited to have the opportunity to represent Oklahoma State in international competition. We look forward to getting the chance to play against the best players in the world."
