McCabe, Cowboys Perform Well at Conference Meet

The Pokes grabbed second-place honors in the distance medley relay preliminaries. Three juniors  David Pomies, Ryan Ripley and Terry Josserand  along with sophomore Ryan Vail finished with a time of 9:50.02 in the event.
In the 5,000-meter run, two Cowboys finished in the top-10. Junior Joe Gray finished fifth with a time of 14:15.54. Junior David Jankowski's time of 14:16.02 was good for sixth place.
Also for the Cowboys, senior Justin Nobles finished 12th in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:12.92 and junior Brian Wall finished 12th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.64.
“Our guys in the mile, 5,000 (meter run), and the DMR (distance medley relay) ran as good as they could have run today,” said Cowboy assistant coach Dave Smith. “I am really proud of the way those guys ran today.”
The Cowboys will resume action tomorrow afternoon at Bob Devaney Sports
Center Indoor Track. Sean McCabe will get the day started for the Pokes in the
one-mile run finals at 3:30 p.m.
